PREGNANCY & POSTPARTUM STRENGTHENING

Strengthen your pelvic floor

Although a natural event, recovering from pregnancy and birth can be a challenge. Many of us will experience leakage when we laugh, cough or sneeze; lift, run or jump. It is also very common to have feelings of pressure or heaviness in our pelvis when our organs have dropped too low from the pressure from childbirth. This is known as having a prolapse. Some of us have pain with intercourse. All these things are common, but not normal, and you should not have to live with them. They are all treatable, and we can help you! All Willow Health Centre Physiotherapists are also specialized Pelvic Floor Physiotherapists. We all have extensive training to help you strengthen your pelvic floor and core muscles. We are trained to assess prolapse of the uterus, bladder, and bowel. We can diagnose and treat stiff and painful scar tissue from your delivery, whether it was vaginal or c-section. We will work with you and your goals to develop an individualized program to help you improve your wellbeing during pregnancy and beyond. We want to empower you with the tools to feel strong, resilient and in control.
